Public Policy Should Be Rooted In People’s Voices

We work at the intersection of community organising, civic education, policy reform, and economic justice, amplifying public voices and holding institutions accountable to the values of the Constitution: dignity, equality, and justice for all.

What We Do
1. Advocacy & Policy Reform.

We engage policymakers, government agencies, and oversight bodies to promote legislation that advances equity, justice, and economic fairness. We organise campaigns, mobilise communities, and present expert submissions to ensure policy reflects the needs of marginalised groups.

2. Civic Education & Democratic Participation

We offer civic training, voter education, and leadership development workshops to equip people from marginalised communities, especially youth and women with the tools to participate meaningfully in South Africa’s democracy.

3. Research & Knowledge Sharing

We partner with research institutions to produce accessible, locally grounded research and policy briefs that bring credible evidence to advocacy. We believe research must be informed by lived experience and backed by rigorous data.

5. Public Awareness & Media Outreach

We use traditional and new media to raise awareness on critical policy issues. This includes community radio, opinion pieces, social media campaigns, and video storytelling to shift narratives and mobilise public support.

4. Movement Support & Coalition Building

We collaborate with grassroots organisations, other advocacy groups, academic institutions, and policy experts to amplify community voices and create collective impact.

6. Legal Advocacy & Rights Protection

We support strategic litigation and legal advocacy to defend human rights and challenge unjust laws and policies.

7. Accountability & Human Rights Monitoring

We monitor the implementation of key policies, conduct social audits, and hold public officials accountable through direct engagement and public action.

8. Combating Illicit Trade & Economic Harm

We research and advocate against illicit trade in goods such as tobacco, alcohol, counterfeit products, and unregulated imports; activities that erode public revenue, undermine legitimate small businesses, fuel organised crime, and exploit vulnerable communities.
